The Family & Domestic Violence Legal Check

Access Justice Inc. acknowledges Community Legal WA in developing the Family and Domestic Violence Legal Health Check

Access Justice has extended the works undertaken by Community Legal WA in developing the Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) Legal Check.

What is the FDV Legal Check?

The Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) Legal Check helps people supporting victims/survivors of FDV (like community workers or lawyers) to identify legal problems early and refer them to an appropriate community legal service.

People experiencing FDV report on average up to 20 different legal problems, which can greatly impact their social and physical wellbeing. Getting legal help before problems escalate makes a positive difference to people’s lives, increasing access to justice and creating better legal, social and wellbeing outcomes.

The FDV Legal Check is both a diagnostic and a referral tool. The FDV Legal Check:

  • assists you to ask the right questions to identify legal issues your client is experiencing
  • helps you identify the appropriate legal service and refer your client to receive legal help
